Group fitness is a growing trend among boomers and older adults and for good reason. The social support provided by a more affordable group format can make commitment and adherence to an exercise program easier and extremely enjoyable. But it is difficult for many group classes to truly provide older adults with the training they need due to the varying functional levels encompassed in such a diverse population. Unfortunately a fitness instructor who neither knows their clients' health or lifestyle background nor offers classes of multiple functional levels cannot help those clients make the kind of progress they deserve.
Independent Fitness group classes are different. Each group fitness client is interviewed and assessed individually and placed into a level of classes that is most appropriate for that client. Progress is tracked, communication is maintained, and exercises and class level are adjusted appropriately to ensure the client is on the best track for reaching the discussed goals. Choosing to provide group fitness programming from Independent Fitness to your older adult community means creating the opportunity for improved independence and active aging for all.
